SONOMA COUNTY, Calif., (Sept. 13, 2024) – American AgCredit has purchased and moved back into an 8,600 square-foot office they formerly occupied at 4845 Old Redwood Highway in Santa Rosa.

The agriculture lender recently moved out of their 121,775 square-foot facility at 400 Aviation Blvd in Sonoma County. Following the pandemic, the association began to offer more flexible work offerings with hybrid and remote work options, to much success. This change to a more flexible work environment meant there was no longer a need for an office space of that size.

“Our customers are our owners – and with that we ensure we are good stewards of our cooperative dollars,” said Paula Olufs, American AgCredit chief customer officer. “Downsizing our office space in Sonoma County is a tangible representation of that principle.”

Like many businesses over the last several years, American AgCredit is re-envisioning their ways of working to be more digital, connecting with their customers when and where they need them, while allowing their employees more flexibility.

“For each of the communities we serve, we really look at what works best for our customers and employees,” said Cody Radelfinger, head of regional banking for the northern California region. “With our focus on supporting agriculture, that means our teams may need to meet with customers on their farm or operation; or it may be more convenient to connect with them on the phone or through a virtual meeting. Our approach is about offering flexibility for our customers and employees, while also ensuring we’re being responsible with our cooperative dollars.”

Santa Rosa will remain the corporate headquarters of American AgCredit, as it has been for more than 75 years. The farmer-owned cooperative has 140 employees based in Sonoma County and 920+ employees across the company. They serve farmers and ranchers in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, New Mexico, Nevada, and Oklahoma, as well as to capital markets customers in all 50 states.
